“My mother has been a resident at Alpine Hill for several years, and she absolutely adores it. She eagerly anticipates Tuesdays—days marked by communal games and artistic pursuits. A particular highlight is when the owners and their families assemble to showcase their musical talents—an experience everyone thoroughly enjoys. The familial ambiance and the kindness and attentiveness of the staff truly set Alpine Hill apart. I wholeheartedly recommend Alpine Hill Adult Family Home.”

“When our mother, became a resident at Alpine Hill AFH in October 2019, we were struck by the modern and thoughtfully designed facility. Vitaliy, the owner, is kind and knowledgeable, reflecting his years of experience in AFH. His staff, too, are wonderful—devoted, compassionate, and attentive to each resident’s preferences. If your loved one becomes a resident at Alpine Hill, rest assured they will receive exceptional care from Vitaliy and his team.”
– Geoff Parker and Family
“We discovered Alpine Hill AFH as it was just opening and were fortunate enough to have our mom as the first resident. We were drawn to the new facility, its layout, and the availability of night time assistance. We loved the family-oriented environment and the caring caregivers. After leaving her independent house, mom spent her last 3 ½ years at Alpine Hill, which she truly considered her home. We highly recommend Alpine Hill AFH for a supportive home for your loved one.”
– The Uphoff Family
“Our mother transitioned to Alpine Hill close to three years ago. The residence is impeccably clean and exudes a comfort that truly makes it feel like home. She has grown extremely fond of this place. The staff at Alpine Hill not only provides her with exemplary care, but also showers her with kindness and love. This reassures us, her children, that our mother is indeed in excellent hands.”

Our FAQ section for Alpine Hill serves as a convenient hub of information, providing clear, comprehensive answers to the most commonly asked questions about our facility, services, and care procedures. We’ve designed it to assist you in your journey to understand our offering better and make informed decisions for your loved ones.
An Adult Family Home is one of the living arrangements available to senior citizens who cannot comfortably or safely live alone.
AFHs offer a more customized approach to care within a homely environment, as opposed to larger care facilities where the caregiver to resident ratio may reach 1:20. AFHs usually maintain a ratio of 2:6 or, at worst, 1:6, which ensures that residents receive more individualized attention. At Alpine Hill, residents and caregivers form a closely-knit family and interact as such.
While they usually provide comparable care, Adult Family Homes vary in the degree of care they offer. In Washington State, the number of residents is restricted to six based on the home’s capacity or capability. In certain cases, there might be only one room, while others might have shared rooms due to size limitations. Larger homes might offer private rooms, which are typically more expensive than shared ones. Shared rooms are frequently available to individuals with restricted Medicaid funding or due to space restrictions in the home.
At Alpine Hill, we utilize a points system, also known as levels of care, to determine a resident’s monthly rate. While we do accept Medicare as a form of payment, please note that it is applicable after a 24-month spend-down period.
Our goal is to deliver exceptional care for your loved ones, which is why we set ourselves apart from other Adult Family Homes by not imposing additional fees for medical supplies or equipment. We are committed to supplying everything essential for our residents’ well-being and possess all the required medical aids and equipment to guarantee their convenience and comfort at no extra cost. In fact, we do provide personal items, prescriptions, and R.N. delegations as part of our comprehensive care plan.
Yes, according to state regulations, there must always be a caregiver present in the home.
Our attentive caregivers are readily available to provide personalized assistance with all daily living activities. To ensure our residents’ safety, we utilize various monitoring systems such as call buttons, sensors, and alarms. Our caregivers are always in close proximity to promptly respond to any resident needs.
All of our rooms come fully furnished and include complimentary television and phone services.
At Alpine Hill Adult Family Home, we offer a unique approach called “Aging in Place” which allows our residents to stay in the same comfortable home environment and receive hospice care when needed. This approach eliminates the need for hospitalization or placement in a nursing home, which can cause unnecessary distress for the family and be costly. The resident can remain in a familiar and comfortable setting unless a physician indicates otherwise.
Our policy is to keep our doors open during our regular hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
We assist in scheduling doctor appointments for our residents and collaborate with their families to organize transportation. However, transportation to appointments remains the family’s responsibility, in accordance with standard insurance limitations. While we do not have a visiting home doctor, residents typically visit their own primary care provider of choice. Furthermore, we ensure convenience by having prescriptions delivered directly from the pharmacy we are contracted with, eliminating the need to pick up medications.
At Alpine Hill Adult Family Home, we’ve streamlined the transition process to be seamless and hassle-free for both you and your loved one. While we don’t charge any specific move-in fees, it’s important to note that the first 30 days of residence are non-refundable, irrespective of the duration of stay. This approach allows us to consistently deliver high-quality care to all our residents from the moment they join our family.
At Alpine Hill, we follow a prorated billing system for the first month. This means that the resident will only be charged for the days they have actually resided in the home or have reserved the room for themselves. For instance, if a resident moves in or reserves the room on the 15th of the month, they will only be charged for half a month on their first invoice.
We assume the responsibility of coordinating with the resident’s physician and ensuring the maintenance and provision of all prescribed medications. Our use of the Synkwise (www.synkwise.com) software aids in tracking medication intake, which is logged in our system. Additionally, we securely store the medication in a locked location solely accessible to medical personnel.
Alpine Hill Adult Family Home maintains a smoke-free environment for both residents and staff, and smoking is strictly prohibited on our premises. Additionally, we do not allow any alcohol consumption on the premises for the safety and well-being of our residents.
